It is with a very sad heart that we have heard of the quiet passing of our Chairperson for Aber Valley Heritage, John (Jack) Humphreys. He has given so much of his time and life to our valley, and some of his proudest moments were to unveil the Miners Memorial with Roy Noble and to welcome our Royal visitors to view this Garden. We have lost our figure head but above all we have lost a friend. Rest in peace Jack. Our heart, respect and love goes out to his family.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday 29th January. A service will begin at the Memorial Garden, Senghenydd at 1:00pm, Thornhill Crematorium at 2:00pm, followed by refreshments at Senghenydd Community Centre upper hall.
